What’s Your Motivation

Written by LynnA

Selling books is like solving a puzzle. I love puzzles. There is something so satisfying in taking what looks like ill-fitted pieces that make little or no sense separately, and putting them together to create something amazing. It is problem solving at it's core. I take that same approach in helping authors sell more books. Give me your broken pieces and let me help you sell more copies of your masterpiece.

You’re probably not going to become rich and famous when you publish this book. I know that’s hard to hear. Author, what’s your motivation?

The publishing industry isn’t what it used to be. Self-publishing has changed everything. Amazon has changed everything. Traditional publishers seek authors with a proven background with huge social media followings. I’ve heard some houses require 50,000 followers, 75,000 followers, and you probably don’t have that, but that’s okay.

Think about your motivation. Think about why you wrote this book. I worked with an author who wrote his memoir, a huge two volume set filled with personal pictures, just for his family. Just for his family! He simply published his book because he wanted family and friends to know more about his life. I’ve worked with authors who have published very expensive lead magnets to share their expertise. I’ve worked with authors who have simply published because it was a book on their heart, a book that they felt needed to be written. I really believe that that’s a great motivation.

I think if you’ve written a book, somebody really needs to read it. So don’t be discouraged. Publish that book.

I love to help authors build and grow their author platform with coaching, book launch and retainer programs. Whether it’s your first or your 50th, I can help take your book from the book launch to book sales. Please visit my Author Marketing page for details.
